The 200-level team of the Department of Sociology suffered defeat from their counterparts in Political Science as the second edition of the Ultimate tournament commenced today.
The tournament, exclusively for 200-level students within the Faculty of Social Sciences, was held at Maracana Pitch. The match began with a slight delay but started soon after with both teams displaying a sporting spirit.
Political Science took the lead when Security, a wing-back, skillfully dribbled from midfield and passed the ball to Mahres, a forward, who scored a goal.
The Sociology team tried to equalize but was unsuccessful in their attempts. The first half ended with Political Science in the lead.
In the second half, Sociology continued their struggle to score a goal, but their efforts were in vain.
Afolabi, a substitute forward, scored the second goal for Political Science, assisted by Akorede from a corner kick. Supreme, another forward, scored the third goal for Political Science.
Despite their efforts to score, the Sociology team was unable to find the back of the net, and the match ended with Political Science winning 3-0.
