University of Ilorin chapter of the Union of Campus Journalists(UCJ) has on Friday, 16th of April, elected its new Press council.
The election was conducted by the Ucj-IEC headed by Isiaka Azeez. It had in attendance the outgoing press council.
Adedimeji Quayyim, a 300l student of Faculty of law emerged the 25th President of UCJ Unilorin with a total of 44 votes as against his opponent, Samuel Oluwatemileyin who garnered the total of 15 votes.
Other winners of positions in the press council are: Miss Christiana Peter of Faculty of Law emerged as the Vice President, Administration, with a total of 49votes; Miss Halimah Adisa of Faculty of Education emerged as the Vice President, Editorial with a total of 56 votes; Lawal Victor of Faculty of Arts emerged as the Director General with a total of 59 votes; and Miss Ibrahim Gbemisola of Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences emerged as the Asst. Director general with a total of 60votes.
However, the position of the Director of Finance, Director of Operations, Director of Publicity and Director of Mobilization remain vacant.
The UCJ-IEC chairman congratulated the candidates and everyone who had participated in the electoral process.
