Islamic Studies students of the faculty of Arts in a friendly match played on Monday scored 3-2 against Education and Islamic Studies students of the faculty of Education.
The match played by the 300-level students of both departments saw Islamic Studies Education students lead with 2 goals in the first half of the match owing to their greater possession percentage. The goals were scored by Abdul-muiz and Ibrahim respectively.
However, their counterpart, the 300L Islamic studies students, Faculty of Arts, tried to have a duel that made them abrade their zero with 1 fascinating goal by Kewulere just 3 minutes to the end of the first half.
Like a hungry lion ready to pounce on its prey, the Islamic Studies students tied the game in the second half and later went on to score the winning goals by Alaaya and Mahbub respectively. Their determination was evident as they fought until the final whistle.
Hussain (kante), a defender from the Islamic Studies team was given a red card for his aggressive defence.
The match ended in a stalemate after the Islamic Studies team claimed that the third goal against them by their counterpart was biased.
