The SU Senate in a majority decision by Senators present at an emergency sitting today have decided upon the removal of Fathiu Oladele from the faculty of Communication and Information Science as a commissioner of the Unilorin Independent Anti-Corrupt Practices Commission. This ruling also denounces Mr Fathiu’s status as the Chairman of the commission.
The motion to withdraw the Chairman’s nomination which was moved by the Deputy Senate President, Senator H.O.D, was seconded by Senator Articulate of Life Sciences.
Per the Senate’s decision, the faculty of Communication and Information Science must “make another nomination”.
While the justification for the removal of the Chairman was untoward, this development follows the suspension of a faculty of Engineering commissioner, Mr Abdulrasheed Adetola, initiated by the UISAPC and dismissed by the Senate last Saturday.
